Slot the handle into the head and check it is locked.
Mark the line you want. A hose on the lawn or a string line works.
Stand the blade on the line and step on the rim. Rock it slightly to slice through the turf.
Lift, move along the width of the blade, and repeat. Overlap each cut a little.
Pull the cut strip of turf away from the path or bed side.
Go round the lawn again every few weeks in the growing season to keep the line sharp.
